Already embryologically we can find diverse relationships between hands and heart. The journey that the heart takes while growing has its ongoing reference to the development of the hands, they grow in tune. Later when the hands reach out, the heart starts to beat and then the hands embrace the heart. Later the hands make contact to the outside world – touch, hold, grasp, let go. The hands are the ones who usually make the first physical contact with another person and the heart is sensing, feeling and responding in its own way, it allows us to sense deeper and let the meeting become fuller. Both – the heart and the hands – are a sense organs.

Within the 3 classes we will explore different aspects of the relationship between hands and heart. We will look into the embryology of the hands and heart aswell as specific anatomical details, like the bones, fascia, fluids, endocrine glands. Through touch, anatomical images and movement, alone and in contact with a partner we will journey through the body from an experiential perspective.
