The nature and mysteries of the heart – investigations on touch, connection, vulnerability & strength 

Exploring the depth of touch and possibilities to relate in movement and dance. We will explore the micro- and macrocosmos of being in contact with ourselves, our partners, the ground and space. The world of sharing weight and touch. Sinking deep into us will lead into dynamic movement. From subtle sensation on a cellular level into large expansive movement through space.

We will explore sensations of touch and presence through the layers of skin into the depth of our tissues and around us. This will lead us into the nature and mysteries of the heart and circulatiory system.

Skin: a place of meeting, layers supporting layers, different layers of different sensations, the first place for touch, a place from where we can feel into the depth of ourselves and our partner, a place from where we can start the dance of following or resisting directions within us and with our partners

Cells: Cellular presence is a ground of being. Me, you – and what makes it “us” when we meet? How far does presence reach and when does it touch? Can I meet you through being me, can you feel being met by being you. Clarity. A place of not wanting. Resting in the activity, resting in the rest. Form follows flow, flow follows form.

Organs / Fluids: Volume, Fullness, Flow, Rhythyms, Weight, Space – many aspects to explore and investigate in our dances. In the workshop will draw our attention to specific tissues in our bodies to support the richness, 3D and deep physicality of our CI dances.

Embryology: The dance of space, fluids and matter. No time, all time. Movement within us that is never stopping as long as we live. Understanding inner pathways, inner spaces, inner and outer forming of substance, connecting us to our being as being nature, to our ancestors, to evolution. Inherent principles have philosophical meaning

Heart & Circulatory System: The aspects of giving & receiving, listening & connecting will weave constantly into the workshop. The heart and blood gives interconnectedness with all parts of the body, it relates to sensing, feeling and activity, the incredible embryological journey brings all aspects together, the sensations of vulnerability and strength support us in our being and dances – there are many stories to be explored with, through, in and around the heart.
We will meet heart to heart.
