Corpo Vivente – BMC® Training in Genova, Italy

“Corpo Vivente” – Body-Mind Centering® Immersion in Genova
4 weekends in Genova and a 4 day retreat in the countryside of Liguria

The BMC Immersion invites participants to get to know and deepen their understanding of the approach and practices of BMC®. Through movement, touch, anatomical information, and group exploration, bodily structures become tangible, fostering a deep and nuanced experience of the body, presence, and being. The BMC® approach cultivates refined somatic awareness from which artistic expression can emerge and unfold.
Each weekend focuses on a different body system — including bones, organs, fluids, and the nervous system — exploring their unique dynamics, qualities, and movement/life expressions. One module is dedicated to developmental movement patterns and the ways they continue to shape how we move and relate to our environment. Embryological perspectives are interwoven throughout the entire training.
Participants will gain profound embodied knowledge through in-depth experiential learning and develop an awareness of the interconnectedness between inner and outer processes: subtle cellular awareness and its expression through movement and being.
Dance, Contact Improvisation, and Authentic Movement serve as integrative practices throughout the training. Each weekend explores a specific theme, while the modules build progressively upon one another.
The training is open to anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of BMC® and engage more fully with the worlds of body, movement, and dance. No prior experience is required; participants should bring curiosity, a willingness to explore movement and touch, and a responsible and respectful approach to working with their own bodies.

12.-14.3.2027
Skeletal System – Structural Integrity: Bones are living, dynamic structures. They produce blood and hormones while supporting the body’s internal clarity of organization. Through their structure and form, they guide alignment, stability, and motion. Each bone in their uniqueness is contributing to the body’s spiralic and interconnected collaboration. Movement is shaped by the bones, bones are continuously shaped by movement. Together with fascia, ligaments, and muscles, bones form a three-dimensional network of tension and support that allows the body to move with resilience, adaptability, and coordination.

1.-2.5.2027
Organs – Fullness, Three-dimensionality and Breath
Organs provide fullness, volume, and three-dimensionality to the body. Each organ carries its own qualities, rhythms, and functions. In their complexity and intelligence, they sustain life while continuously supporting movement through their adaptability and responsiveness. Within us they offer a collaborative inner dance that nourishes and informs every motion and our expression. They contribute to elasticity, lightness, buoyancy, resilience, comfort, and a sense of embodied presence. The diaphragms of the body create interconnected spaces that are continuously shaped and moved by the breath.

21.-23.5.2027
Early developmental movement patterns: In early childhood movement development, we journey through patterns that relate to the evolution from single-celled organisms to upright, complex beings. Movements such as rolling, crawling, yielding,  pushing, reaching, pulling, grasping, releasing, and expanding outward from the center in all directions emerge from these foundational developmental stages. These early movement experiences shape how we perceive ourselves, relate to gravity and space, and connect and communicate with the world around us. They form the basis for coordination, expression, adaptability, and embodied presence throughout life.

4.-6.6.2027
Fluids – Rhythm and Flow
Fluids support us to be dynamic, calm, in ease, and full of power. They form a vital communication network within the body and nourish, us in many different ways. This inner fluidity allows movement to unfold with softness, efficiency, and coherence. It creates space for adaptability, helping the body respond to internal and external demands without rigidity. Fluid presence can be light and strong. In this way, fluids not only support physical vitality, but also cultivate a felt sense of presence, resilience, and ease in being.

22.-25.7.2027 Retreat at Prepranda, hills of Liguria
Nervous System – Regulation and Balance: The nervous system registers, perceives, regulates, and generates impulses. It forms a system of communication and coordination, organizing bodily functions, movement, perception, rest, and action into a continuously adapting whole. Through its autonomous processes, it maintains essential rhythms and different states of presence. It creates the foundation for wakefulness, awareness, thinking, and both conscious and unconscious responses to our environment.
The nervous system constantly integrates internal and external information, allowing the body to respond with precision, sensitivity, and adaptability. It balances states of activation and rest, alertness and recovery, shaping how we experience safety, presence, and engagement with the world. In this dynamic interplay, regulation is not a fixed state but an ongoing process — one that supports equilibrium, resilience, and the capacity to shift fluidly between action and stillness.
This module will happen in the retreat center “Prepranda”, close to Savona, in the hills of Liguria and serves as integration of all other modules.
