Wednesday weekly classes Genova
“In the ground of being”
Fluid origins and developmental movement.
In these 4 classes we explore early developmental movement patterns tracing the journey from one-celled organisms to upright, walking and dancing beings. Human development unfolds through overlapping stages of movement, articulation, and presence, beginning in a fluid environment. Through the embodied experience of fluids—spiraling, folding and unfolding, yielding and resistance, breathing and pulsing—our primary organization and movement patterns emerge.
In these 5 classes we revisit key milestones of developmental movement patterns, including early reflexes and equilibrium responses. Development is not linear but cyclical and layered; these early patterns continue to inform us throughout life, offering support for stability, adaptability, lightness, and freedom in movement and expression. It is deeply interwoven how we relate to us and to our environment. Embryological development will be part of the classes, underlying the immense potential of growth alongside the exploration of our internal and external spaces.
We will move between solo and touch-based explorations. Specific anatomical and developmental material will ground and inspire our dances and movement.
